Government Response

Transportation - Dec 5, 2012

Golf carts are not safe to be on a roadway.

Alberta’s Traffic Safety Act and supporting regulations specifically prohibit the registration of a golf cart as a motor vehicle. Municipalities may wish to install paths for golf carts; however, a municipality cannot make an off-highway vehicle bylaw to authorize the use of a golf cart on a roadway.
