In recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, AUMA is hosting a free webinar on March 21 from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. about the experiences of refugees that resettle in Alberta.
Using experiences from Syrian refugees, guest speakers Kaitlin Lauridsen, from the Centre for Race and Culture, and Niga Jalal, from the Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative, will highlight pre-migration experiences, the journey to Canada, pillars of mental health adaptation and common myths about financial assistance and other issues surrounding refugees.
If you have questions on this webinar topic but are unable to participate in the event, please feel free to email your questions and we will do our best to have them answered during the webinar. The webinar will be posted on AUMA’s YouTube channel the following week. For more information about AUMA’s Welcoming and Inclusive Communities initiative, click here.
