Job Description : 

The role of the Community Peace Officer is to provide awareness and enforcement of Town Bylaws and  Provincial Statues as per the approved budget, policies and procedures of the Town.  The Community Peace Officer is also responsible to ensure a safe and pleasant environment through their involvement and positive visibility in the community.

Shall be responsible for:

  • Provide enforcement of Provincial Statues under the Town’s Operating Authority
  • Promote and enforce all Town of Fox Creek Bylaws
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with the local RCMP and other enforcement agencies
  • Ensure accurate record keeping, statistics and filing as required and mandated by the Solicitor General’s office, Public Security Peace Officer’s program and Town Office
  • Adhering to all safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education in Law Enforcement or Criminology  or have a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and Provincial Drivers Abstract Reports
  • Complete an approved physical abilities  test for uniformed enforcement roles
  • Have suitable training course to be bale to achieve an appointment as a Community Peace Officer in the Public Security Peace Officer Program.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years practical experience in municipal government
  • Have a minimum of 2 years applicable Law Enforcement Experience
  • Have knowledge/experience in municipal legislation municipal operating systems and municipal finance
