Reporting to the Chief Administrator Officer (CAO), the Deputy CAO and Corporate & Strategic Services (C&SS) Director provides direct leadership for Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Legislative & Policy Services and Environment & Sustainability business centres. The C&SS also oversees the Corporations corporate strategy, planning and corporate performance management functions. The director partners in the creation of corporate vision and provides leadership to ensure a future focused corporate support network that enables direct delivery departments to achieve their goals. This position is also the Town’s designated Deputy CAO, assuming full responsibility in the CAO’s absence.

With a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role, including 7 years of supervisory experience, the successful candidate will also have a related Master’s degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of municipal government legislation and local government functions as well as several years of direct experience in at least one of the functional areas reporting to this position are essential. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, management and coaching skills including above average analytical ability and negotiation skills. Strong public relation experience as well as exceptional writing skills are crucial in this position. Demonstrated knowledge of long term financial health principles and the ability to apply financial and budgetary skills. The Deputy CAO is a thoughtful change management leader that works as both a partner and leader to advance the Corporation and the communities best interests.
