The Town of Stony Plain has a permanent full-time position available for an Economic Development Specialist. Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, this position will assist with the overall coordination of the Town’s economic development function. General responsibilities include business attraction and retention, small business development, redevelopment projects and coordinating initiatives within the Town’s Economic Development Strategy & Action Plan.
The ideal candidate for this position holds a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field. A Certified Economic Developer (CEeD) or working towards the designation will be considered an asset. This individual will have excellent time management, organizational and communication skills, with a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience. Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in a municipal setting and Economic Development. Experience with E-newsletter and website administration is an asset. A passion for the industry paired with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships will help ensure success in this role.
The salary range for this position is $55,923 - $71,149 per annum. The current work week is based on 35 hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday with the exception of some evening and weekend commitments. The option to participate in an alternate work schedule may also be available.
