The GIS Developer participates in the implementation of the Town’s geographic information system (GIS). The role actively participates in the long-term development and enhancement of GIS information technology to meet the Town’s mapping and end user service objectives. In addition, this role performs GIS modeling duties, provides support, assistance and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
To prepare for this position, you have completed post-secondary diploma in GIS technology or a related field (e.g. surveying, engineering, geography, drafting technology) with three to five years related experience. In addition, you will have working knowledge of ArcGIS, online and portal, and AutoCAD. Experience with MFE or python scripting is required. Municipal experience is considered an asset. You routinely demonstrate your strong time management and problem-solving skills. Your understanding of the principles of legal surveying and cadastral mapping, how they relate to the Torrens Land registry System, and how they are applies in the interpretation of certificates of titles and encumbrances will ensure your success in this position.
$37.50 to $40.57 per hour
