Town of High River invites applications for a Permanent, Full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic/Automotive Technician
$32.46 to 35.12 per hour

This position will be responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of all Town vehicles and equipment and for carrying out the operation of the equipment maintenance shop. The Town has a diverse fleet of light and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles consisting of approximately 100 units. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week and may be required to work overtime and/or weekends during emergency situations.
To be successful you will have a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certificate with preferably three years’ experience in fleet maintenance. Preference will be given to those with a combination of the education and experience listed. The following certifications are also required: Valid Class 1Q Alberta Driver’s License; Standard First Aid CPR Level C/AED; WHIMIS; Fall Arrest; and Transportation of Dangerous Goods. In addition, you will have thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance and diagnostics of a wide variety of light trucks and heavy equipment. Understanding of federal and provincial regulations regarding equipment and vehicles is required.
