The Town of Stony Plain Planning & Infrastructure department is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time, Operations Supervisor (Utilities, Sold Waste, Recycling Services). Under the supervision of the Manager of Operations, this position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and planning of both the day to day operations and assigned projects, ensuring that the business unit meets operational goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a Civil Engineering Diploma with CET or EIT designation and experience in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection system operation and maintenance. This individual will have 5 years’ closely related experience, including 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity within a municipal setting and will bring a high degree of personal initiative, integrity and professionalism; along with computer and mapping ability (CAD/GIS preferred).. Additional education and experience such as project management, legal/tendering/contract law courses, and designation with the Alberta Public Works Association as a Public Works Supervisor, will be considered an asset. General knowledge of the Municipal Government Act, MUTCDC, Water and Wastewater Code of Practice, and Emergency Management Act will ensure success in this position.
This position will be working a 40 hour work week, working 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with the option to participate in a flexible work schedule. The annual salary range for this position is $86, 347 - $109, 857. In addition, the Town offers an excellent benefit package including the Local Authorities Pension Plan.
