The County of St. Paul is currently seeking applications for a full-time Payroll Technician based on a 35-hour work week. The position shall report to the Director of Corporate Services and serve as part of the Corporate Services Department.
The successful candidate shall have a University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business and/or previous experience relevant to the position.
Candidates must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting. They must be able to multi-task and work in an open office, team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Experience with Serenic Software and/or in a municipal environment are considered assets.
Candidates must be willing to work overtime as required.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Payroll Processing
- Administration, payment, and reconciliation of statutory deductions
- Administration of the benefits program
- Processing of records of employment and annual T4s
- Annual Pension Plan Reporting
- Annual WCB Reporting
- Assist with budget preparation
- Assist with year end audit preparation
- All other duties as requested
