The Town of Okotoks is seeking an experienced Programs Coordinator to join our team full time!
Reporting to the Programs & Events Manager, the Programs Coordinator provides leadership and day to day supervision of Program & Events Leaders including recruitment, orientation, scheduling, training and performance management. The Programs Coordinator will gather and analyze data to determine programs success and provide recommendations for improvement as well as respond to participant inquiries and ensure activities are conducted according to OH&S and Town standards. This role also provides administrative support to the Manager, including researching grant opportunities and submitting applications, assisting with budget and quarterly reporting, coordinating community programs publications, coordinating payment of invoices and maintaining databases in compliance with the Town’s RMS Policy. This is a full-time opportunity working 40 hours a week that will require the occasional evening and weekend shift to assist with community events.
The successful candidate will have a related degree, preferably in Recreation Administration as well as 5 years of related experience, including supervisory experience. This is a fast paced role with a large supervisory component as well as hands on component; strong supervisory and leadership skills and the ability to foster a strong team dynamic that reflects the Town’s values and initiatives will be key in this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organization, time management, communication and customer service skills. Candidates with program development experience with strong public relations and marketing skills are preferred.
