This position is responsible for assisting the Roads and Solid Waste Supervisor with the administrative and leadership needs pertaining to the Roads section. This position will be responsible for overseeing the day to day field operations and maintenance of the roads infrastructure. The Lead Hand is a hands-on position who works with the crews in the field providing mentorship and oversight. This position will provide coverage in the absence of the Supervisor.
To be successful you will have a grade 12 education or equivalent with three (3) years municipal roads experience; preferably with one (1) year supervisory experience. In addition, you will have five (5) years experience operating heavy equipment. In addition you will have a valid Class 3Q Alberta driver’s license. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles used in all aspects of asphalt roadways, municipal concrete program, overland drainage, sign installation, traffic control devices, street sweeping, and snow and ice control.
$34.72 to $37.56 per hour
