As the Senior Manager, Engineering, you will work with the Director, Engineering, to provide oversight, direction, and support to the Engineering Department. The Senior Manager will align with the department’s overall goals and the Municipal strategic plan, and ensure that employees are carrying out the proper functions to allow the department to provide efficient, innovative, and influential service delivery while ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess 12 years of concentrated and progressive engineering and capital projects experience within a related government. The successful candidate will have five years within a management function. This individual will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and be either registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

The successful candidate will have experience working within the public sector with both unionized and non-unionized employees, expertise in capital and project management, and proven financial, business, and political acumen. They will be able to navigate a highly complex organization, introducing and navigating change and simultaneous demands. They will be experienced in developing strategy at the leading edge of municipal engineering.
