Job Description : 

The Town of Okotoks is seeking an experienced, highly organized full-time Manager to join our team!

Reporting to the Infrastructure & Operations Director, the Water Services Manager is responsible for the management of all Town water and wastewater utilities and infrastructure, including water supply, treatment and  distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment systems. Incumbent will be required to ensure the efficient operation of facilities along with cost effective delivery of services; this includes long term planning, budgeting, project management and implementation, contract services agreements for operating and maintenance projects while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations relating to public health and safety and Town policies.

The Water Services Manager is responsible for successful management and leadership of employees, including providing guidance, performance feedback and evaluations, development and training as well as fostering a strong team dynamic that reflects the Town’s values and our customer service focus.

The Water Services Manager will attend committee and Council meetings as required, along with presenting and reporting to the Council and the Strategic Leadership Team on all matters relating to water and wastewater as required. The incumbent will also represent the Town, and cultivate productive, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful incumbent will have a degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field as well as a minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressive roles, including supervisory or management experience. This position requires thorough knowledge of water/wastewater operations and regulatory standards/guidelines. Advanced negotiation, as well as written & oral communication skills are also required. Successful incumbent will demonstrate strong organizational skills, Microsoft Office capabilities, as well as a strong analytical and technical aptitude.
