Attendees at last week’s Mayors’ Caucus in Okotoks were pleased to be recipients of a cheque presentation with AUMA President Lisa Holmes totaling $401,984.
Over 180 regular and associate municipalities were eligible for this rebate in recognition of their valued participation in two or more of our business services in 2016:
- Employee benefits
- Property and casualty insurance
- Electricity and natural gas
“We are extremely pleased that part of the modest profits generated by these services are returned to our municipalities through this rebate,” said Lisa Holmes, AUMA Board President. This demonstrates our value as a member driven organization.
Municipalities will receive their rebates by the end of June. Non-profit community organizations are also receiving a rebate.
New this year, members receiving this rebate are invited to participate in an exciting contest. We are challenging them to use this rebate in an innovative way and show how these funds will be used to directly benefit their community. We invite these members to email us with a story and picture of the use of these funds at email@example.com by September 30th, 2017. Municipalities who demonstrate the most innovative use of the funds will each receive one free AUMA 2017 Convention registration worth approximately $700. We will also showcase the winning ideas at our AUMA Convention and in our 2017 Annual Report.
