At the June Mayors’ Caucus held in Okotoks, AUMA President Lisa Holmes announced a rebate totaling $401,984 for municipalities that participated in two or more of AUMA’s core business services in 2016 including:
- Employee benefits
- Property and casualty insurance
- Electricity and natural gas
More than 180 eligible municipalities have since been challenged to participate in an exciting contest: to use this rebate in an innovative way and show how these funds will be used to directly benefit their community.
At this time, we’d like to remind those members to email us with a story and picture of the use of these funds at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 30th, 2017. Municipalities who demonstrate the most innovative use of the funds will each receive one free AUMA 2017 Convention registration worth approximately $700. We will also showcase the winning ideas at our AUMA Convention and in our 2017 Annual Report.
