COVID-19 and family violence supports

As isolation is a risk factor for family violence, the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) program remains committed to addressing family violence and supporting vulnerable Albertans throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this time of physical social distancing, the Family Violence Info Line continues to be available to Albertans experiencing family violence. The trained staff on the line can provide advice, support, and information on the services available in the caller’s area. The Family Violence Info Line can be reached at 310-1818 and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in over 170 languages. Albertans can also chat online at alberta.ca/SafetyChat from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
