Former St. Albert mayor Paul Chalifoux passes

November 8, 2017

The AUMA extends its condolences on the passing of Paul Chalifoux, who served as an alderman before becoming Mayor for the City of St. Albert in 1998 – 2001, and then from 2004 – 2007.

Paul played an important role in the development of SERVUS Place in St. Albert, as well as the alignment of Ray Gibbon Drive, an extension of the Anthony Henday.

Paul also contributed to the AUMA and AMSC, serving on the now-dissolved General Insurance Strategic Service Delivery Standing Committee. This committee was formed in 2005 to provide advice and recommendations when the AUMA split into the separate legal entities of AUMA and AMSC.

Paul’s contributions to his community included school principal, politician, and friend, and will be missed by many.
