Municipalities interested in strengthening relations with Indigenous communities can benefit from a free course offered by the University of Alberta. Indigenous Canada is a 12-week online program taught from an Indigenous perspective that explores Indigenous history and culture in Canada. Topics include land claims, legal rights, political conflicts and alliances, and Indigenous life, art and its expressions. Learn more about the course including registration on the University of Alberta website.
AUMA’s Welcoming and Inclusive Communities initiative also offers a variety of information on Indigenous peoples on our website at wic.auma.ca.
