President’s Summit on Policing – recording and presentations available

AUMA and RMA co-presented the second session of the 2021 President’s Summit on Policing on February 17, 2021. This session focused on the feasibility of establishing a provincial police service. Guest speakers included:

  • The Honourable Kaycee Madu, Minister of Justice and Solicitor General;
  • Deputy Commissioner Curtis Zablocki, Commanding Officer of the Alberta RCMP; and
  • Brian Sauvé, Founder and Co‐Director of the National Police Federation.

If you missed the session, you can view the recording here and access the PowerPoint presentations here. There were many outstanding questions from the session, and all three of our guest speakers committed to providing responses to these questions. As responses are received, they will be posted here.

AUMA will use the member feedback provided at the session to develop an advocacy position and strategy on a provincial police force – stay tuned to the Digest for more information and updates!
