Registration is now open for the 2017 AUMA Convention and Trade Show, which takes place from November 22 – 24 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, in Calgary!
This event attracts more than 1,100 elected officials and administrators and includes dialogue with provincial Ministers and educational sessions such as the Legalization of Marijuana and the Municipal Impacts, Land Use Planning, Building Effective Relationships with the Business Community to Advance Economic Development, Council Role and Conduct, Asset Management, and more.
Members will also have the opportunity to vote on resolutions and elect municipal officials to the position of President and other vacancies on our Board of Directors.
Our keynote speaker is Olympic gold medal winner, Joan McCusker. Joan McCusker has won numerous awards as a member of the Sandra Schmirler Curling Team, including three Canadian and World Women's Curling Championships, an Olympic Gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Games, and four All-Star Team Second honours at the Canadian Curling Championships.
And new this year, delegates will have the opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of municipal leaders through the awards presentation, which follows the keynote address.
Along with their Convention registration, delegates will have access to the AMSC Trade Show, which features municipally-related businesses and services. Be sure to take the opportunity to connect with the 100+ exhibitors.
The detailed program will be released by the end of this month so watch for highlights through our newsletter or the AUMA website.
We encourage CAOs to register their Council as soon as possible for both the Convention and hotel room bookings. Any required changes can be made following the October elections. That way, your Convention attendance and hotel rooms are assured.
