Save the date: Municipal Leaders’ Caucus set for March 27 and 28

Attention Mayors, councillors, and CAOs!

Save the date for the March Municipal Leaders’ Caucus taking place at the Edmonton Convention Centre (previously known as the Shaw Conference Centre) in Edmonton on March 27 and 28.

This year’s Caucus will focus on the upcoming provincial election and is a tremendous opportunity to learn about how key issues for Alberta municipalities may be affected by the shifting political landscape.

The cost of attending caucus will be $165 for AUMA Urban Members and RMA Associate Members, and $215 for RMA Non-members. Keep an eye on the AUMA Digest and the Municipal Leaders’ Caucus Events page for further details on registration and the agenda.

Members will also have the opportunity to submit Requests for Decision (RFDs) at Caucus. An RFD is an excellent way to influence the advocacy and policy positions of AUMA. If your RFD is passed by the delegates at Caucus, it will be assigned to the appropriate AUMA committee for further action. In order to present an RFD at Caucus, the RFD must be endorsed by Council and a representative from your Council must attend Caucus to speak to the RFD.

Use our RFD template to prepare your submission. You can also learn more about RFDs and how they differ from resolutions.

Please send your RFDs and the appropriate background information to Rachel de Vos at rdevos [at] auma.ca (rdevos[at]auma[dot]ca) by March 1, 2019, so they can be made available for all attendees to review prior to the Caucus meetings.
